The engine appears “as new” and it is tight with great compression. Today this engine is a valuable collector’s piece and although I would enjoy flying it again, I probably won’t because of its value. ![]() In 1947, an engine of this sort was bought for one reason – to fly! And fly it I did, in several free flight models. The provenance of this engine is well known as I purchased it new from Huffman’s in early 1947 I have the original box and papers. This Serial Number 821 is an early version of the Series 3B it was shipped to Huffman’s Model Shop in St. ![]() This is an Elf Twin, Model 20, Series 3B engine manufactured by Dan Calkin in Portland Oregon.
